A little about me:
I have been crafting all of my life. I really got into scrap booking back in 2006 when my second child was born. I have done so many different crafts I can’t stick to just one. I now am a 3d print designer and I design custom SVGs for lasers and cutting machines.
Buying a cutting machine
Buying my first Cricut really opened the door for me and then later a Silhouette machine. Then I just had to have the Siser Juliet and it works better for print and cut. I have so many scrapbooks filled and a bunch still waiting to be finished. Like many people I got behind and the years have just kept piling up on me. One day I will catch up….
Sewing Craze
I got really into sewing key chains and zipper pouches in 2022 and now have 5 sewing machines. I sold my handmade items at Jitters coffee shop all of 2023. I have attended several vendor fairs where I got to meet my customers face to face. I currently have some items for sale at Trendy Treasures in the Chisholm Mall in Duncan, OK. Those are great times for sure and I am excited for what is yet to come.
Diving head first into Laser Engraving
In the spring of 2023 I fell in love with designing files once I bought my first laser machine. The Omtech K40 helped me learn about lasers. I have already since upgraded to the beautiful Omtech Polar 50 watt machine. I learned right away is to make material test cards to see how the laser reacts differently to each material. That will save you a lot of headaches. Lightburn is a design software and it is worth its weight in gold. Buy it!!! No regrets here.
Designing SVGs
Who knew I would one day become a svg designer? I sure didn’t see that one coming. Learning Lightburn has been easy on me in one way because of my Cricut and Silhouette software experience. It is such a useful program and it helps me achieve my design goals daily. I am amazed at what my laser can do and I test it’s limits all of the time.
Selling SVGs
I aim to make fun and useful files for you all. I test them to make sure they work well before putting them up for sale. Test your files on cardboard at a higher speed and low power. Make sure you like what the prototype looks like before wasting material.
3D Printing
I finally bought my first 3d printer the Bambu A1 combo around November 2024 for the family. Little did I know it would become my passion. I was scared how hard it would be to learn how to design my own 3mf and stl files. I quickly realized like laser files 3d files were not so bad to make. I have a long way to go with sculpting items but I am having fun learning. I have made a bunch of custom 3mf files now and each file I make I learn something new.
